Required Skills:
Candidate will be
responsible for all Priority –I/II issues for On Demand and Internal
customers. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for
supporting Data management duties like Restores/Backups. His/her
role will also include handling high priority refreshes and schedule
maintenances like kernel patching and Hardware fixes. This position
will be responsible for all cross platform hardware and software
issues including Linux, Sun, HP servers and NetApp storage.
Knowledge of UNIX and LINUX
commands/utilities is also required. Fundamental understanding of a
UNIX-based operating system; for example, understands job control,
soft and hard links, distinctions between the kernel and the
shell.
Candidate must have strong
inter-personal and communication skills, capable of working with
Oracle customers dealing with Oracle application, databases and UNIX
fundamentals. Candidate must also have strong written and
documentation skills.
Required background:
Minimum of two or more years of
System Administration experience.
Desirable:
A degree in computer science or,
post-high-school education with hands on experience in a related
field.
Knowledge of Storage Subsystems
(NAS or SAN)
Knowledge of Oracle RAC environment
is a plus.
Programming experience in any
applicable language
Other Responsibilities:
Candidate may be required to work
shift work. Management reserves the discretion to change shifts
