Required skills:
Candidate will be
responsible for identifying, analyzing and resolving technical
problems related to Oracle software systems. Employee will restore
failed services; find workarounds to down user situations.
Candidate must be capable of working in highly stressful situations,
capable of original thinking and teamwork. Technical knowledge,
quality of work, high motivation, and good interpersonal/cross
disciple trouble shooting skills are key to success in this role and
position.

Candidate
must have strong inter-personal and communication skills,
capable of working with Oracle customers dealing with Oracle
-
Application,
databases and UNIX fundamentals. Candidate must also have
strong written and documentation skills.

The
candidate must have high skills and working knowledge of Oracle
applications, Oracle RDBMS in both a single tier and multi-tier
architecture.

Knowledge of
UNIX and LINUX commands/utilities is also required. Fundamental
understanding of a UNIX-based operating system; for example,
understands job control, soft and hard links, distinctions
between the kernel and the shell.
Required background:
Minimum three years of Data Base
Administration experience.
Desirable:
A degree in computer science or,
post-high-school education with hands on experience in a related
field.
Knowledge of Oracle RAC environment
is a plus.
Programming experience in any
applicable language.
Department specific skills:
Working knowledge of UNIX and Linux
systems a must.
Working knowledge of Oracle
applications a must
Working knowledge of Oracle RDBMS
version 8.x and 9.x a must
Working knowledge of SQL and shell
scripting required.
Other Responsibilities:
Candidate may be required to work
shift work. Management reserves the discretion to change shifts
